I just noticed that SilverPriest posted news of what looks to be an interesting peice of hardware at RNZ
Its gotta be a good idea, who wouldn't want to play SoF2 or CS with a "real" rifle?

Hmmm - well it'd be fun, but I wouldn't keep it around for long if I lost frags because of it. And it kind-of looses it's appeal when you change weapons to frag grenades ( lol ) :p :D.

Hmm, i was thinking if they included a dpad on the stock somehow, it could be a fully fledged controller.....
Wouldnt be as accurate as a mouse, but then again, depends on the quality of the sensors it uses.
There is a writeup of how they work (lightguns) @ www.howstuffworks.com
Konami made a damn good one back in the day, just cant remember what game i used it for.

Can't say I'd use it.
It would be different if you wall to sealing surround screens. :D

i would buy one if they had force feedback :D
*pictures walking into lan with one and gunning everyone down from thier own screens :D *
for the grenades they could have some kind of 'elastic' system
ie- grenade, attached to elastic, attached to ring on your finger, the further the elastic has to unwind, the further the elastic has to unwind from the grenade, the more power your player puts into the throw- this would be amazingly inappropriate if you use the gear from a desk- but who's gonna be sitting at a desk with the rifle almost poking through the screen anyway?

I was wondering how you would move when using it, Like someone said, a d-switch on the side of the unit would be cool, and even a few misc programmable buttons would not go astray. Until there is sufficient documentation on the unit, I think I would reserve my judgement.
