Whilst I believe you would quite possibly get a few of these threads, I still thought I would start this thread.

I will have approximately $150 saved away from work to spend on a new PSU in a couple of weeks and I wondering what to get. My current one is a 320W ICute, and with what I have heard from these forums alone on cheap power supplies, I'm have put serious thought into purchasing a new PSU, especially considering I intend to add some additional components to my PC in the near future.

Enermax and Leadman are the two brand names I keep hear being referred to, but I'm still unsure on which I should look at purchasing.

Any advice on which PSU to look at purchasing would be much appreciated, so spare a little time and help me out.

Thanks in advance.

I've only ever had an Enermax so can't compare it to a Leadman but I believe you will be fine with either of those two brands. There have been a few threads on power supplies recently so use the search button, you'll find heaps of useful information.

The Thermal Take ones aren't suppose to be too bad either, exept for the silly lights they provide a good rail.

With $150 I think you should go either Enermax or TT...

leadman don't have a very good track record for long term reliability. although they're awesome PSUs, they seem to have a tendency to die young (around 18 months it would seem).

so yeah, an enermax oughtta do you well. Tt are essentially the same powersupply with a few more bells and whistles, if that's your cup of tea.

I'd stick to the brands with well known reliability: Zalman, Enermax, Thermal take. Antec... Avoid hyena, foxconn, leadman and no name generic like the plague!
