ok...i've bitten the bullet...i'm actually gonna do something to my nice case

i'm looking for a car speaker cover, one of those black metal covers with a honeycomb pattern of circles on it, to cover an exhaust fan at the top of my case.

Where would i find one? I tried DSE and fresh outa luck, and car speakers arent exactly my area of expertiese here...

and did Sydog ever get the top of his case off??? Enquirering minds want to know :p

Hmm, the holes are usually quite fine.
What diameter?
Will prolly have a logo in it of somesort.
I can have a poke round BN tomorrow to see if they have anything if ya want :)

Jaycar has'em! If you're in Auckland try Surplustronics at the top of Queen st. townside of K'rd. They seriously ownz for modding goodies! :D Got some of my nicest fans from there. They have all these really old instrument cases that would make and interesting mod. I wish I could talk them into having that orange instrument bouy... wouldn't that be a cool mod! Paint a RAD sign on it and turn it into a missile... I digress! :D

Close. There's a Jaycar stockist ( they sell Jaycar gear, but they're not actually a Jaycar ).

SICOM (http://www.sicom.co.nz/)

It's where I get almost all my electronics parts from....

Hmmm I have been wondering what to do with the bouy I found.

The one at Surplustronics is mint. Except for being painted rescue orange at the moment. It's an aloy enclosure for one of them science bouys they drag behind or under boats or helicopters for taking geological or meteorological measurments. It's really big though but at least wide enough to take a standard ATX board if I recall. Failing that a mini ATX will still make it a crash hot LAN'ers mod.

The bouys at Takapuna beach look surprisingly like Apollo landing modules... :D

Why do you want to that? Id see more point in puting the cover over the intake to filter the dust out?

I've got some sitting around that I could bring to L3 #7 if you want....

Perhaps a trade?

the only way i see of cutting the top is to remove all your components and the psu, then use a jigsaw. the top is basicly part of the frame itself......
