I am just getting the final parts of my watercooling put together and will be ordering a pump this week.

I am only going to be cooling the CPU and GPU and the thing I am unsure about is whether to get the 1048 or the 1250?

The 1048 should have plenty of power for most people's needs, You may find the 1250 would just add to your temps as it consumes twice the energy.

That AND the fact that the 1048 ( I've got a 1048 ;) ) conveniently has 1/2" input and output connectors, so you won't need adapters, even vinyl 1/2" hose will just fit over nicely. And even if you ( not my choice, but hey! ) make a lesser 3/8" system, the hose should fit nicely.

The 1250 has a 3/4" input, which MAY be a bit harder to fit hoses over.

One thing to considder is the MaxHead Room factor

you can alway reduce the flow rate if found to be too high from the 1250 in your system but makes it harder going on the 1048

the price range between these 2 are around $30-40,
one is 600l/h, one is 1200l/h,
the flow rate of 1250 is of course a lot larger than the 1048,
but i suggest a 1048 would be a good one to go for if you get it brand new since it is cheaper, work efficient and have no need of getting a converter like 1250(1/2, 3/8 or 3/3 barb) cant remember
good enough
good luck

1048 is sufficient for most users. 1250 is quite a bit bigger (But not as big as the jump from 1250 - 1060 - jeeez!).

I use a 1250, but a 1048 would have done the trick no problem.

HOWEVER, add a PixelIce, ArcticNorth and a Surge into the fray - that's when the 1250 starts looking more attractive.
