View Full Version : DFI Lanparty series
Hi,
I was just wondering about opions concerning the dfi lanparty nf2 B motherboard. Since its $275 from Ascent I dont want to buy a lemon, the mobo stacked up good scores against maby high end socket A motherboards.
It has the best pack concerning extras out of the box such as UV reactive rounded cables. Plus its a uv reactive motherboard :)
Opinions please

I have heard nothing bad about these boards, and the reviews and user experiences I've read are all positive. It also has some nice overclocking and bios features which other boards lack, and has been reported to reach high FSBs.
However I personally like to stick to the larger enthusiast manufacturers such as Asus and Abit, since looks and frilly extras mean little to me. The lanparty boards tend to be rather expensive as well, and I don't really think it's worth spending that much on a socket A board these days.
Honestly though, if you're prepared to spend that much dosh I think you'd be happy with it. :)
/edit: Hang on, why on earth would you want to switch to a Socket A board when you have an Asus P4P800 and P4 2.4?

If that's the sole reason for up(down)grading, you do realise that there is an equally UV reactive lanparty intel 875 board available don't you...

hmmm if you decide to get the lan party 875 board make sure you get the Rev B one. I'm pretty sure that they only sell these now as these came out ages ago, saying that someone might have stock and be selling it off cheap.
last time i was on pricespy i think the 875 lan party boards were ~$350 or so.
for a LAN rig, wouldn't it be better to get a microAtx / shuttle pc for compactness and ease of mobility?
Cough :) Below is a socket A lanpartly KT400A Version :) Very nice board layout ;) (Esp with the power and reset switchs built onto the motherboard!)
:D nice doom'la
It seems Im going to go for the version higher than dooms. Thanks for your input.
I will let you know how it all goes
PS: I cut a hole in my Antec AMG1000 $417 case with a jigsaw, without and pervious expirence! looks good :) pics later.
