i saw some people replaced 2 80mm fans to 1 120mm fan, but i am wondering can 1 120mm fan produce more airflow than 2 80mm fans

Two 80mm's can be better than one 120mm, one 120mm can be better than 2 80mm, but 3 80mm is not always better than one 120mm, or even 2 80mm, but sometimes 2 120mm is better than 3 80mm, but I personally have 6 80mm, one thick 80mm, and an 80mm and 92mm in my psu. but I think my 170mm is the best because its pretty, and goes chit. chit. chit. chit brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr woosh. so really my 170mm is the bestest.

yeah, sorry I'm taking the piss, depends on what you want, CFM?, RPM? noise? You need to give more details jk2l

What os said ;o)

Basically a larger fan can (if rated such) produce more airflow with less turbulence (read NOISE).
