hey all.
Does anyone know where I can get silicon washers/ and or strips.
I am trying to reduce the noise from my cdrom's and hard drive.
Has anyone used silicon to reduce the noise in their rig, and how successful has it been
thanks

You can get a tube of silicon sealer and a gun for under $25. Much more flexibility. You can use it for just about anything
I'd have no idea how much noise you'd kill with it though. I used it on my sub boxes ;)

I notice OCNZ sell fan silencer kits, with rubber washers etc.. may be worth a gander

I haven't heard of silicon washers, but I would think just about any kind of plastic washes and some foam tape would help.

You could always try your local modding store.
I use them, but didn't notice any reduction in noise (wasn't particualily loud anyway... pretty thick steel to start with).

my case is cheap with a thin and crispy base, just how I like them
:p :D
its worth as little as $50 bucks new. if silicon washers arent much good, has anyone used that sound absorption stuff on their cd roms, If its any good I might surround my 5.25 bays in the stuff (my HDD is in a hardcano) so would go in too.
has anyone done this? how much reduction in noise was there? and did your temps of those components increase significiantly? If I was going to do this I would prob run sealant (use washers)over everything too
