Ok I decided to unlock my Xp today, I got me some conductive pen. Pull my mobo out of me case removed teh 8045t and got to work on teh unlocking.

I put the glue in while masking the bridges then waited for about 5mins. Came back peel off the tape and there was a hill of glue sticking out, so i used a pin and tried to remove this glue but had some troubles and only got some off.

Anyway I thought this shouldnt be a problem and proceeded to seal the bridges. i done the first three pretty crapily while masking all other bridges, then using a pin tried to part the stuff. I then put some cond pen onto some paper and used a pin to do the last 2 bridges.

It looked fine, the bridges look to have been covered and they were all seperate. Only I try it and it isn't unlocked.

I was just wondering what you guyz think would have been the problem here?

would it be the hill of super glue on the slots or could the bridges not be seperate.

Thanks

At least you didn't fry eh man :D

When I do mine I will use the tomshardware unlocking vid as my basis for unlocking, just to be sure I know what I'm doing. Just replace glue with nail polish (red #53 hehe ;) ) and that's me :D

You really should have scraped off the 'hill'..... and are you sure that the cond. stuff got to each contact properly?

Use a mutlimeter to test the continuity or resistance of each of the bridges... probably got one that's not quite bridged.

Glue from the tape might be left on one of the bridges........ a connection might be too thick..... you can check the second one with a multi-meter.... I forget the resistance but a google should help you out ;)
