Many of you are bound to have them for Lannage etc.

COnsidering it myself given the number of times I cart this around and the freezer spiking here.

People that have small scale (300-600va) UPSs want to give their opinion on theirs and model and rough pricing etc. I have found a few with fairly good W/sale prices but want to know how many are within that capacity range out there.

Grrr!!

I have a 200va no-name ups that was purchased a good 5 years ago. It'll keep my system and a monitor running for 10 minutes or so, but I only really use it as a power filter and to hibernate my pc if a powercut does last a while. I'll probably buy a new one sometime, this one is too heavy to lug up and around.

Thats the sort of box I was looking at. Most the 400va+ are around 7-12Kg to lug, but as it stands its not too much of a problem to ensure against drive write errors and corruption. the RS-232 ports are great I hear for monitoring drops and hibernating/shutting down the PC and resuming on mains again when it comes and goes.

I always frown on this 6 way 10yr old no filter etc powerbox whenever there is an eletrical storm.

Grrr!!

Yeah. I suggest getting a usb one if you can, to be honest, they are much better supported.
