Two people I know installed them last week, one made his machine sh!t itself, but then again it has problems with all sorts of things...and the other went like jesus

One of the audio programs wouldnt work with it though, one of the bundled ones, I cant remember the one, think it started with 'Audio'
hehe

There's a new UI for the audio HQ control thingee, similar to the audigy drivers one. Haven't had time to test out the sound quality in games and the like properly.

They don't sound any worse and they didn't break anything when I installed them, probably fixed a sh*t load of bugs... filesize = 25mb for just the driver update

Installed and working great for me, under win xp. I like the new mixer.

I like it also but the lack of volume on the new drivers has forced me to 'rollback' to the previous ones. It might have been the proggys doin that but oh well I don't use any of the software anyhoo.

since knowing someone at Creative i been using these drivers now for a couple months on windows xp.

Really have had no problems with them, they run perfectly fine.
also the low volume problem, u experienced, wasnt acutally a problem, if you open the mixer up you will notice in the botton left hand corner the volume level comes defaulty set to very low, this needs to be turned up to full

I'm sure I changed that to about 3/4 volume... but I'll have another look. Cheers :)

Hmm you shouldn't really be using more then 1/2 to 3/4 volume anyway.. that's what amplified speakers are for.

Soundcards are not supposed nor designed to power speakers. Amp's are.

Headphones = aight

But even then hard core audiophiles on the web have come up with headphone amp's.. crazy eh

Update:

Think I found a bug already..!

Knew I couldn't trust creative

It could be my speakers dying but after installing the new drivers and running the speaker test in the audioHQ speaker / mixer settings... I get Front Right, Front Left, Rear Right and Rear Left .. except the Rear Right and the Rear Left both come from the rear right speaker.. nothing from the Rear Left.

Good one creative.

Grrr!!

Still that 'aint as bad as Mac ads.

Well I'm back to the older drivers due to lack of volume and some crappiness in games, I'm not impressed.
