Has anyone got a good program for shutting down all your shares and disconnecting everyone when at Lans. It was a real ***** at L3 when I was hosting a game and someone tried to leech off me and evry1 that was playing including me had there fps dropped to about 20. The problem was sorted when I disable guest account but it is a ***** to do that all the time

Thats not a bad idea Binky...can you connect inside a LAN using DC?
Can you tell me how please? I might be interested in that, for times when we have network incompatibilty that we just can fix...

If using Win2k or XP, you could go into the properties for your network connection, and unbind "File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks" and optionally in addition "Client For Microsoft Networks" from the interface. This will stop all filesharing etc, and provide a quick means to renable filesharing if desired.

to run DC on a LAN, someone needs to host a Hub, like i did. The software is on the DC site.....cant remember the linkage.....

i say use DC. i'm currently running the hub for the uni lan and it works sweetly :). windows shares are slow and a pain in the butt.
the easiest way to stop windows shares is to temporarily stop the "server" service (r-click my computer/manage/services and applications/services). :)
