It's probably a bit of guess work, since it's not listed on Leadteks site (www.leadtek.com.tw).
It's going to take someone actually getting one and decoding the RAM code to find out, most likely.

Well if someone has one and would take off the bigass cooler, we would know for sure - wouldn't we?
You don't have to decode the RAM exactly - just look for a 36 or a 38 etc somewhere. ie: 36 = 3.6ns.

Surely someone somewhere has done that by now.

I have a 64Mb gainward one, their Ti4200's dont have any ramsinks on the ram, but i have put them on mine, will take one off next time i shutdown pc (between downloads :D ) and read the code.. I think it had Elixr ram or sumthing.. and it does not look like BGA ram, the GW ramsinks are the same size

Cool - it would be interesting to find out the exacty NS count

The GW one has 3.6ns ram on it, save you pulling your RAM sinks off MrThc.

Clubic.com ( quite a good site, yet another one I wish was in English :D ) have this to say:
http://www.clubic.com/n/gen/n5698.html
So it looks like the Leadtek 64MB will use 4ns - exactly the nVIDIA spec. However, don't let that put you off. Having owned Leadtek before, I can tell you that the quality and the manufacturer of the RAM make more of a difference than the ns rating.
My old MX had 6ns RAM - but hit 200MHz no problems. Meanwhile, a mate foolishly bought a Pine with 5ns RAM - the most it could pull was 182MHz, hehe :p ;)

I think having a lower NS isn't always the key to getting good overclocking. Having a look a variety of benchmark tests, the memory went up ... but that doesn't really DO much compared to the CORE going up. it's like the KT333 chipset vs IWill XP 333. Anyone who gets their FSB higher along with their memory going up with get massive increase!
Once again, I believe 2A is rated 2.8 NS. or is it 28 ... .. dunno I saw a photo with 2A, and they said it was 2.8 ns

According to ascent the Ti4200 128MB Leadtek has 3.6ns. How accurate that is, I couldnt be too sure.

I don't think so........ the Leadtek Ti4400 128MB has 3.6ns RAM tho. I think the 128MB Ti4200 will just have plain old 4ns RAM.

Im getting confused.

Leadtek GeForce4-Ti4200 A250LE 64MB (5ns) TV-Out+DVI AGP
I had a look @ a few Gainward Ti-4200 cards and I can tell u that:
GW Ti-4200 64MB => 3.5 ns
GW Ti-4200 128MB => 4 ns

That can't be right. That's higher ( slower ) than the nVIDIA spec. While you may get that from a worse brand, I would be very surprised to see that on a Leadtek

Yeh thats what I thought. I've got an account with the ledtech distributor and his specs say the same 5ns ram. Maybe they both got it wrong. I've tried searching the net for info on the ledtech 4200 but nothing around and their website doesn't mention ram sppeed.
A question about 64mb versus 128mb, would 128mb support higher resolution or what advantage is there in gettting 128mb 4200?

What a load of crap.
Grant said the Leadtek 64mb 4200 = 4ns
Then when my friend went to pick it up, he saw it was indeed 4ns.
Also, it is currently running at 295/620. 620 wouldnt be possible with 5ns RAM would it?

The plot thinkens. Well the only thing I can think of is the distributor has the specs wrong and hes sending out the specs to the retailers and are just copying and pasting them on their websites.

One of you two is wrong, sir. Or else you're not, and they have two variations and I will eat this here hat, and some juicy cat bal....er...anyway...

Has anyone actually compared a Gainward Ti4200 side by side with a Leadtek Ti4200... or is all this rumours and based on back when leadtek's gf2mx was compared to other manufactures gf2mx's...
..cause the Gainward Ti4200 is damn appealing
I've had PixelView, Chaintech, Gainward, and Leadtek.
I have to say Leadtek offers the best 2D quality. That's noticeable on a 17" monitor, 1024*768.

Okay well ppl out there have access to leadtek ti4200 64mb, and Gainward.......so how about some ppl posting their max overclocks on the memory?......
Also who are the manufactorers of the ram on the Gainward and Leadtek?....Because if that 4ns Leadtek card was going hard at 620mhz then thats fater than IR's Gainward (max 560mhz).
Thats a large difference especially considering it is lower rated ram?
I was a bit put off by leadtek having lower rated ram....but if 620mhz is any indication then it puts a different spin on things.

Just because the Gainwards RAM is rated faster that doesn't necessarily mean it overclock higher. ;) The ns rating is just an indication really.
*Remembers Kj's story about his Leadtek GF2 that had 6ns RAM and one of his friends bought a dirty old Pine GF2 with 5ns RAM and KJ's could overclock further - because it was a Leadtek.*

Do you have the 64Mb or 128Mb model ?
I got the 64Mb one coz it was cheap :p the 128 Gainward 4200 also has 4ns Hynix ram
I had a play with a couple(3) of Leadtek GF4 Ti-4200 64MB cards these few days.
1. They all come with 4ns Hynix ram chips.
2. The current batch's core don't oc too good, ~ 310 Mhz mark. (Still pretty high though)
3. The memory is good, 590~600 MHz mark.
This is all carried out with stock cooling.
I got another Ti-4200 tonite..
Core: 310
Memory: 625
That's on 4ns ram btw. Here's a little tip, don't just look at the ns rating.

wow those Leadtek cards are pretty compedetive price wise too.....
ive seen some 64mb versions labelled as 'VIVO', Video In? is this a typo or are there cards like this? (im too lazy to email dude)
hans: my friend has AE-88 and it is a kick arse ride. Smooth

I don't think Leadtek has video in function. I can't find it anywhere on the box or manual.
BTW, Levin sure is a nice car. It loves 7K RPM.

However, all the cards you see in NZ will be the normal edition, i.e. no video in.
