Coming soon in a forum near you, what happens to a C-130 Hercules, when you don't screw on that little nut that holds those big spinny propellor thingies on properly.

It will show, just how safe do you feel sitting next to an engine on an aircraft.

here's a taste of what to come, notice the lack of propellor left on the jet engine.

I know a lot of people that work on the JD8D engines for AirNZ. ;) Believe me they are maintained damn well. :D

Just for info's sake, a turboprop engine is a jet engine with a propellor on the front. Jet engines can loos a compressor blade or two inside and shake themselves silly until they fall off the wings. But feel safe that the pilots usually get to T handle them first. (T Handle = emergence shutdown handle).

This Herc was being engine run, and was not flying at the time.

Not just almost, totally. See the small enrty wound, large exit wound just like a bullet. It even damaged the other side of the aircraft. I would not have liked sitting in the back of the plane when it happened.
