I frequently end up with HSF, HDD, Graphics Cards, Memory, DVD, CD-R drives etc left over from PC's I build/change/dismantle, all parts are second hand.

Where would be the best place to advertise them, Trade and Exchange usually invites Mr **** to call and thats kinda annoying.

I like that you asked before posting part selling threads cause that probably would of got you banned, it seems you may have missed reading some of the the forum rules...

See here: http://forums.overclockers.co.nz/announcement.php?s=&forumid=13

Also this sticky thread in the newbies forum:
http://forums.overclockers.co.nz/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7851

Basically...

Buy/Sell Rules:
Do not ask for access to the BSE, it will be automatically granted to you when you earn it.

Do not try to sell your gear in other parts of the OCNZ forum, especially the Open Topic.

Do not whinge about not being able to get into the BSE, you want to use it? Earn it.

Until you earn it, take your stuff to Trademe

I didn't see them asking anything about BSE Ragnor, just where is a good place to advertise stuff to sell e.g

trademe.co.nz
tradeandexchange.co.nz
ebay.com
Local Newspaper or other local papers
Various forums that permit it including the BSE forums here.

Well he mentioned trade and exchange in his thread, trademe was already mentioned, BSE was pimped and he wasn't aware of the general forum rules. So I thought a general point in the direction of the rules was in order :)

But you're right there are also other options such as ebay and local newspapers.

Random piece of trivia: This thread was originally posted in the BSE area of the forums, it was moved by a mod.

Anway, it depends on what you want and what sort of equipment. A few people around here are always looking for cheap bits and pieces to make that linux play box or that server or the smoothwall. So if you just want to get rid of stuff quickly without worrying about making much cash then the BSE here would be a good bet, if you want to make more cash then go to trademe where more people are willing to pay a lot more.

it's possible to move a thread without using a redirect... I use redirects because it gives forum dwellers a little hint about where threads should be going.. so obviously it wasnt me who moved this.. if indeed it was...

I originally posted the thread here, it was not moved by anyone.

Ragnor has provided me with all the info I needed so that I could post my post correctly, and his feedback was appreciated.

IIRC your post in the BSE was reported by CM to Silbar but he allowed you to continue the thread as you are a 'Senior Member' and you just changed your name or something? So you would be able to post in there afaik but some mods may get grumpy so push that post count to avoid in trouble, but don't spam :).

Yes I used to operate under a different name.
I changed my Forum user name to match my Gaming name as things were getting complicated.
I am an old timer and married life cuts back on my post count these days but I will work on it.
