Well, I have felt the need to partition my SG 40gig so I can save my apps/mp3's etc as I seem to have an OS screwup once and a while (and in some cases it forces me to format). Seeing as PM7 is not working under XP (even though it says it does  ) I am trying to find some free one (preferably works under winblows, no boot disk etc)

Any suggestions are much appreciated :D
Cheers, Ants

personally, I would chuck in a win98/95/ME boot up disk and use fdisk.

why doesn't Partition magic work?

Grrr!!

Sounds like you need to reformat and reinstall first ;).

to be honest never had any problems with Fdisk......... but with XP just use the setup routine to partition and format.... assuming you are going to use NTFS .... and not old FAT32 for the filesystem......

only use the ME version of FDisk as the 98 versions have a bug which doesnt allow you to make partitions over a certain size....... fixed in WINME release...

Oh and if you have the idea that I wish to format my C: once I have my stuff on the other partiton... that's not what I'm tryin to do here. I just want another partition so I can save my stuff in case I *wish* to format or something screws up and I have no choice but to format.

And i say again

DriveMapper

Obviously your O/S/PM can't determine the drive letter, so fix it up!
