Why don't you try looking at Styles:

http://www.stylespc.com/

look at his window kits. They are cheap and you can do a professional looking job.

Well I just went to the local Woods Glass and got a side panel cut from perspex (same measurements). Yet to decide on a shape.

Grrr!!

You could pull perspex for free off an old Tranzit bus. But it is yellow of age :D ;).

Just buy a piece a little smaller than your side panel, and don't worry about cutting the shape, that's what I recommend anyway.

If you're cutting a straight edge a table saw is the way to go! If you are cutting an odd shape use a bandsaw. Jigsaw makes a HUGE mess!!

Mulford's your best bet. The guys in there will be able to explain the different plastics & thier uses. Perspex is most common but you might want to investigate other options, polypropelene or polycarb or something. You should be able to find something |33+ at mulford.

Plain acrylic is bendier, more shatter resistant, cheaper and easier to work with. Perspex is a little stiffer and harder and more scratch resistant but a little harder to work with.

I often cut compound curves on both materials with a jigsaw using a fine tooth metal blade at high speed and I get very nice edges. The blades often classed for plastic is usually way to coarse for perspex. I do admit a table saws and bandsaw make short work of cutting plastic but you are limited to the shapes you cut with them.
