Whats cooking?

THERE'S UNUSUAL ACTION on the RMBS share price today.
As we reported early this morning, the price rose seven per cent yesterday on news of a deal it had made with chip giant Intel.

But since NASDAQ opened this morning, the price has risen by 18.5%, and at press time stood at $6.60, up $1.03 on the day.

Either there's some super deal on the way that we haven't heard about yet, or people have realised that the stock may be worth more than they thought.

Back at the end of June, the RMBS share price fell to $3.08 on the markets. Its all time high was $490+ before the stock was split.

Rambus is showing its new technology at the Platform Conference today - you can find the agenda here.

The presentation, called "Keeping UO up to speed", looks at the Hypertransport, the RapidIO and the PCI Express technologies.

Wouldn't this imply insider trading? If a super deal that only a select few (presumably internal employees) know about, that sounds rather dodgy. Could just be a fickle market, speculation etc etc....

Intel released their end of quarter filings today.. Indicative figures released were good (well bad, but better than expected).. Still 7c dividend it better than the 3c last time.. woohoo.

Current intel price is $18.92 at 7:42pm Nz (after hours trading) up from $18.36 at close of market.

At the same time Amd are trading at $9.40 no move from cob price of $9.40. Would have expected this to move if judging what is said by all the AMD press releases was reliable. ;)

Rambus share price climbed on top of announcmens of Intel licensing its new serial link technology, also it had a good june qtr and strong estimates on 3rd qtr. Price is $6.36 at same time as above down 0.02c from cob price.
