just had a quick search for any reviews on it without much success..

but i did find this from some random DVDRHelp forum:
The LVD-2002 is a downgraded version of the LVD-2001 which comes in a different design, colors and without the PCMCIA card reader.

heres (http://www.kitsapcomputers.com/lvd2001.htm) a link to a review of the 2001 model though.

other than that it looks pretty good :) something to add to the christmas wish list i guess :p

lol, i noticed it this morning as well.

I found a site in dutch that seems to indicate they can play xvid, and liteon seems to be steadily churning out firmware updates.

$360 is a bit steep though, one could almost build an HTPC for that.

Grrr!!

Edit: Don't worry, found it.

149 Euro isn't bad at all. I've found 7 different sites which say that the LVD2001/2002 will play Xvid as well as DivX :). It will also play SKVCDs which is also all good.

Most of the sites were in german/dutch, so I didn't bother linking them.

- Xvid 4:

- OGG Vorbis:

but yeah, they also talk about how lite on bring out firmware revisions very quickly and that more things were supported from the original revision..

hope more players like this come out for competitions sake.. theres the KiSS media one isnt there?? wonder when other large companys start producing em.

And its progressive scan for those with fancy TV's and Projectors.

BUT its only NTSC progressive scan, not PAL, which is a bummer.. hope they fix that with a firmware update.
