I dont believe it... they screwed us over again... :mad:

I'm not going to go into details but basically the Head Of Department says he only gave us permission to use the room between monday-friday this week, and never on saturday, even though thats what we originally asked for... :confused::(

They're saying that if we want it on a saturday that we may have to pay to hire out the seminar room (@ $25/hour which is bullsh*t)

I'm getting fed up with this **** so I'll go see the HOD and try and straighten it all out on monday.

I make a vow not to make any more threads about a LAN till I am 110% sure they're going to go through with letting us use a room.

How are you going for networking hardware, I can bring an 8 port switch and cables if needed.

we got a 16 port switch from MIT and I'll bring my 8 port switch so there should be heaps.

But it never hurts having spares in case something does go wrong so feel free to bring it if you want :)

I got a few spare NIC's ill bring in case theyre needed also...

Also, we got TONS of patch cables of assorted lengths (3,5 and 10m lengths) all provided to us courtesy of MIT :)

hmm, my friends not that far from you. He's around drury/ramarama which is a bit closer than me cause im in Papakura/Ardmore

Got a few people who we're having trouble getting hold of so we're not sure if they're coming. I hope we get hold of this other group of lanners before saturday. The extra 5-6 people would make a difference.... ;)

I'm getting fed up with this BUT I'm not gonna quit ;)

I'm going to fight to try and get this because we never actually asked for a room. It all started by us asking for a switch we could borrow for a weekend and we were just going to hire out a hall for the venue but they liked the idea and offered us the opportunity to have the LAN on campus!

Anyway, I'm interested goose... Looks like this one won't be going ahead anytime soon...:rolleyes:
