Just out of curiousity, what exactly do you take to a LAN? ... some people seem to take all sorts of menial junk ...
Me:
Shuttle Bag with Shuttle, MX500, Headphones, Cords.
Bag with keyboard, cdrs, lansnacks (chocolate and coke in particular) and jacket.
Monitor (CRT unfortunately).

allways:
case/key/mse/mon/headphones/amp made from old computer speakers/ eth cables
and sometimes:
spare rig(server)/box of cat5/crimp kit/switch
lan snacks are osp

apart from computer, moniter, keyboard and mouse, i try bring a mouse pad or some paper just in case the tables are **** and wont let me use a optical mouse in pease. i try go round supermarkets getting cheap food thats on special as i do not have much money, and i'd also bring a pillow.

computer, moniter kb, mouse headphones etc
snacks, coke, lift plus, switch, sleeping bag (an hour or two of sleep makes a differance the next day)
and any spare stuff i can think of i.e a couple of pairs of headphones, power boards, network cards, cabels, moniter etc etc

Laptop bag containing:Laptop, power adapter, MX500 + cloth mousepad network cable, crimping tool (just in case), laptop lock
Then another bag with: Food, keyboard, 4way power board, digicam, batter charger (for camera) and a big bottle of pure orange juice.

lan cable (plus 7 extra cables and a 8 port switch and a spare network card)
soldering iron (never know when it'll come in handy)

loads of blank cds / dvd's :D (i purchased a dvd-ram drive last week :D)
and im probably forgetting a lot of stuff here. i really like to be prepared, so i dont have to take a trip home to pick up stuff.

Likewise i was expecting to see miiiiiiiiiiiiiiles of stuff there :P
I would type what i take to a lan but its pretty much identical to KJ's list with usual gear plus copious amounts of cables, huge switches, bins, cleaning stuff, key for venue, etc
LH will hopefully make a revival in the new year @_@

32 Port 3com manged 10/100 switch - if needed
8 port 10/100/1000 switch - again, only if needed
5 port 10/100 switch - as above
A box of CAT 5/6 cables, AC cables and 4 or 5 '4 way splitters'
Game Server #1 (pentium 3, 128mb) - only if required
