Hi Guys,
Just wanting to see your P4 Northwoodie overclocks.
Best I have manged is.
P4 1.8A (1.5v) running 2.4@ 1.8v
using a Volcano 7 + hitting about 55 to 58 underload. (which is too high for my liking so I am running at 2.25@1.7v gets about max 54 under load)
Cheers

the best i've got out of my 1.8A so far is 145mhz FSB (2610Mhz) @ 1.65V, I had to drop the cpu : dimm ratio back to 1:1, but I found better performance from running it @ 133 fsb (2400mhz) with ram @ 3:4 cas2 :D

yeah which aint bad considering how it performs and the fact that some people would spend more than that on just a regular old alu case. the shipping would be a killer tho, but i'd certainly buy one if i had a spare grand.

lol - hell yes, can u imagine the shipping cost from europe to nz? Dont forget that this thing weighs 35kg's!

That chip-cons case thing sure does look as if it could be good.

nah, i dont really see the point, all im doing is getting a old freezer and using that, the reson being - alot of power, and cheap - i saw one in the T&E for $20. Even that guy who OCed his northwood to like 3.1ghz is going on to fridge components...

it's just the whole package. to build something anywhere near like the chip-con unit would cost at least $600 anyway. sure you can build up something from old fridge parts and it'd probably work quite well, but the components were never designed for that sort of use, and good luck trying to get it to look that tidy.

I'd love one :p :D
And unlike a lot of similar cases it still has heaps of modability.

I got a 1.6A on an Abit BD7-R with 512 Corsair XMS3000 (2x256Mb).
I'm running now at 2408MHz, rock solid with stock voltage and cooling (tho arctic silver III on the CPU) and the CPU runs 47 - 54 ° @ 100% load (depending on the ambient temp) I have raised the voltages to run stable at 2664MHz.. but CPU getting over 60 @ full load. So need a better HSF before I can advance on that.

How can I put this subtlely....
Get some wet and clear liquid on to that puppy. Maybe even add an electrical thingie or two

watercooling ? yeah.. i may well head that route.. but I'd like to try the extremes of air first, an alpha is on the menu.
As far as peltiers go .. Sounds like too much trouble to me...

Still got me SD7-533 / 1.6a @ 2.2 Won't go any higher but sure would like to try some of your ram in it Ripping. Still a 600mhz o/c rock solid so can't moan to much, ok I can, I want more. Be interested to see how these new Intel 533mhz boards go with the 1.6a
