FYI
those forks will void cheetors frame warranty

ghey... a friend of mine broke his wheeler frame doing a bunny hop.. it was real funny, I say go GT, thier frame warranty was great, I knew a guy that sanped his thrice, and the replaced it with a new model each time, though last I heard he just go married and had a kid (read: WTF?)

RockBoy

wheeler frame warranties are fine and they dont just break from a bunny hop

it is known as a JRA warranty claim "just riding along"

if your friends GT broke 3 times it wasnt the GT's fault and he was lucky that they came to the party and kept replacing it

RB

and putting triple clamps on almost any bike that wasnt designed for them i.e werent sold on the frame will void anyones fram warranty irrelevant of brand ;)

I think cheetor has got a life now. pfft your absence makes me sick to the core

ridiculous, and you know what really hurts is the lack of respect. Well actually the other thing hurts the most but the lack of respect hurts the second most.

Just ridiculous.

Yeah, good to see another roadie about. Not a bad looking bike though. Speaking of broken frames, my friend snapped his frame into two pieces (the top and down tubes broke about 5cm away from the headtube) and Avanti replaced it, no questioned asked with a frame two models up.

yeah, I know he was lucky, and I dunno how he rides them so hard... he just keeps breaking em, smashing into trees and stuff mostly, and this was no JRA , he really was just doing a bunny hop!, he probably fractured the frame while riding earlier, and the hop just finnished splitting it, and unfortunately the frame was second hand so no warrany :(, he did have tripleclamps tho, but the frame had a hell big gusset so we figured id' be sweet, it broke down by the BB just before the weld anyways

your not another pennys whore are you RB?

hmmm, nice to see a bike frame that has been designed properly...wats up with all the curved tubes theses days? So ppl realise there a hell of alot less strong than the conventional 2-triangle bike frame?

lol - NNA2m's into Mbiking..his dad has a $15k+ road bike if i remember correctly.

first of all, I have nice front forks, Manitou sixComp (bgetting some nice 120+mm Trippleclamps when I can afford it)

I bought it at Chain Reaction

She's a bueaty down boenvale

I've never broken a frame, and DEFINITLY NEVER by bunnyhopping :)

it has 5" rear travel, not the normal 4" of the shoreline trail

its getting both front and rear discs

it is a $2500 bike, managed to score it for $1,499

and yes, think of the Graphics card I could buy with that, But, yoiu cant ride downhill at 60kph on a GeForce4 TI

Volodkovich
11-07-2002, 11:46 PM
heh, maybe 150kph is a bit too much for a Yugo...

*giggles* are the tt's 1" or 1" 1/8' ?

cable disc or hydraulic? I find hydraulic evil, its like pull, pull, pull, (is it working yet ?) pull, pull, endo.....

You answered correctly Cheetor ;). RB will spare your life. Hell, he might even smile benevolently upon you :D :p....

/me still wants an Avanti Team Rossa Corsa.... mmmm..... shame I can only ever afford second-hand mountain bikes without shocks ( though in my case shocks are bad, so at least that works out for me ). One day.... one day....
:D

Lol - AgentofEvil, you should bike up today for L3 :D. Must do that sometime - go for a ride down to my relatives in Timaru, just to convince them I really am insane.... ( longest I go ATM is Rangiora, which is piss all at a 100km round trip )

And BTW - I've done past 70k on the flat in ChCh before ( wind assisted ). I'd hate to think how far past 120, 130... etc I'd go with the right bike and a nice big mountain. ( Road of course - I already know guys that have done 120 off-road, so there's obviously no challenge at the 120 mark :p :D )

if your going to get cables then get Avid or Hayes

dont get any other brand specially not formula or diatech

personally i wouldnt touch cable disks with a very very large barge poll they are decidedly average i would rather have a set of arch rival Avid v brakes over cable disks any day,

if you want real disks Hope Hayes or Grimecia should enter the equation

I think the bike speed record is 250km/h+, that's drafting off a car in front though. Fastest I've ever been is about 80, it was on a sunday morning group ride, I looked down at the speedo saw about 78, and this tandem came rocketing past me, they must have been doing over 100. It was crazy.
