I was just talking to a smaller business, they currently run their internet over dial up.
They are with Xtra, it costs them a total of $250 a month for the phone line charge and xtra flat rate.
Every afternoon inbetween 3 to 6pm they are unable to send emails. The servers don't respond, Xtra's explanation, tough luck, it's a business plan and business have limited bandwidth.
Basically, you can't run a business without email and now it's getting to a point where it's really bad and it can't go on like this.
Like, you can't send a 10k email in the afternoon's.
So, I'm just wondering, what other plans are there.
Telecom is offering JetStream600 for 200$ a month + 18c/MB.
IMO, those are quite expensive prices.
Can anyone recommend any other service. I don't know jack about business plans. They can't use a residential plan cause telecom won't let them.
But what about wireless? they are in North Harbour Industrial Estate.
They do about 400MB of taffic a month on current dialup. Speeds of 128kbit upstream and downstream are more than acceptable.
