Networking via USB 2.0?

Someone told me recently that this is possible. How? Is it a good idea? Can one connect to an ethernet hub via another computer using this?

I have seen USB ethernet adapters, one end plugs into the usb port, the other has a RJ45 plug, DSE has them for $80-90. I think they are good for laptops if you don't want to fill up your PCMCIA slots with a network card.

Thats not worth the effort. I've heard of hubs to which one can network with Ethernet, USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394.
