PnP

Short for Plug and Play, a technology developed by Microsoft and Intel that supports plug-and-play installation. PnP is built into the Windows 95 operating system, but to use it, the computer's BIOS and expansion boards must also support PnP.

ripped from teh g00gl0r @ this (http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/P/PnP.html) address.

basically it means that you *shouldn't* have to reboot when changing hardware.

it's been around for a while (on motherboards by default), so you're going to struggle to get a computer now that doesn't support it.

oh, and one thing to ease the load on my small mind; please learn to use punctuation ;)

i know the feeling, im not great at english either but things like sentances and paragraphs increace the readability of your posts.

chances are if someone has to decypher you post to figger out what you want , they probabbly wont decypher it and you wont get a reply.

jus little things like rereading the post to find spelling errors help make your problem/meaning clearer.

It's actually one of the rules of this forum to use correct spelling and grammar.

The plug and play setting in the bios is mainly irrelevant now, as most modern os's allocate the irqs and resources themselves.
This setting is a legacy issue and dates back to the time when ISA cards first became 'plug and play'.
