Wow this is really cool.
I never realised there was much activity in overclocking in NZ, I've been a part of GideonTech for most of this year, and thought that it would never get closer to home than that!
Dont flame me for sounding like an ignorant fool. (please)

every few months at least, average age range would be 18-25 at a guess.

I found this forum because i recently got the company i work for to buy some stuff from OCNZ. After a while i realised they started putting out some decent in-house reviews - and i saw you had your own dc hub.
So I thought i'd look at the forums - and damn they were a lot bigger than i thought!
Anyway thanks everyone - way better welcoming than i've gotten anywhere before!

new packaging (not crushable), ability to run 64/32 at the same time, fairly cheap, and a decent core, really thats about it.
Xp 64 should get announced in a couple of days or so. Its aimed at the same performance level as the opteron 100 series, so you will have an idea of performance.
I discovered a neat little 1" fan for 1U servers. Sounded like a high pitched whine, but gee did it spit out some air..

The new Itanium processor is only us$764 and Xp64 is out now for it :) :)
[In the face of utter adversity, total defiance is often the only solution].
Yeah, I am hoping to get something usefull to work with as well. Amd are pretty amature when it comes to sales and marketing. I don't think they really understand the market or grasp the opportunities that are there.
However, I can see a market for 1U 1xCPU and 2x CPU opteron servers, which I think will be quite neat. Working on product fitment for athlon 64 tho.

a 1U server is a nice thin, 19" rack mountable case

Well just announced yesterday (so won't quite be available here) are the two new Itanium 2 DP (Dual Processor) units 1Ghz and 1.4Ghz priced at us$750 and $1175 respectively.
Just double it, add 10 and think of gst iffn you want the NZ prices.
As a comparison the opteron 244 that is the nearest comparible unit is about nz$1500 + gst and all that guff.
